WARM will be activated on march 11th.

We are in need of volunteers to help support our overnight guests. Please click the button below to see the shift schedule and sign up. As our overnight guests are in individual rooms, the volunteer role is primarily as a point of contact for questions or additional supplies. Similar to chaperones on a church ski trip or out-of-town high school band competition.  All shifts are at motels in Mesquite.
WARMWeather Activated Refuge for Mesquite is a temporary shelter for individuals known to be camping or living in cars during times of extreme weather conditions. WARM is primarily the responsibility of Sharing Life, a local non-profit in Mesquite that for over 20 years has provided food and other emergency services to families in crisis.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and our duty to maintain a safe environment for volunteers, staff, and WARM will be held at a motel that will allow safe distancing between all overnight guests and volunteers in the Mesquite area. The location will be announced on the day of activation. See below for our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures Manual

During an activation, supplies are needed to help us maintain a clean, safe environment for guests and volunteers. We kindly ask that you deliver donations to Sharing Life during business hours (M-F 9-5). Our staff and volunteers can unload your car while masked.

Our current needs include:
  • Hoodies and sweatpants (all sizes)
  • Socks
  • Disposable plates, bowls, and utensils
  • Shelf stable, microwaveable foods
  • Toiletry kits
  • Blankets
Due to the need to socially distance all overnight guests, financial contributions will allow us to secure additional rooms during an activation and provide more unsheltered members of our community with a safe place during extreme weather.
While Sharing Life will oversee WARM during an activation, we need your help to staff the center. There are a number of opportunities available for individuals and groups to help us keep our most vulnerable community members warm. See below for Volunteer opportunities for yourself, church, or company.
